A ghostly summer memory 🍜🧶

Have you ever heard of Proust’s madeleine? It is highly likely that you have, but if not, it is the brain’s natural tendency to associate a memory with a smell, a sound, a place, and so on…

As far as I am concerned, I often get this feeling from music, in particular from a film or video game soundtrack.

Unsurprisingly, the animated movies from the world-famous Ghibli studio are among them: around the time I discovered Miyazaki’s extraordinary universe, it was quite common to rent a bunch of cassettes and DVDs to keep oneself occupied during the summer holidays.

Like so many others, I was fascinated by ‘Spirited Away’ and, in particular, by the enigmatic character called No Face.

Although some people find him scary, I think he is adorable (when he is not trying to swallow people, that is), so here he is in his soft toy form!
